In recognition of his contribution to scholarship on Borneo, IAS has named a student research prize after him called the Professor Victor T. King Prize in Borneo Studies.
The prize will endeavour to promote the study of Borneo and encourage undergraduate students to develop research interests in the region.
The prize will be awarded each semester to a UBD undergraduate student with the best final year project (original thesis) in the Social Science and Humanities fields. The final year project is to be produced in English though the Prize Committee will accept projects produced in Malay, provided that they be translated into English before submission.
